Tenugui
Part of my tenugui collection.
Tenugui are traditional cotton 'bathtowels' from Japan. Every time I'm in Japan
I can't stop myself buying them since they're light and unbreakable souvenirs
and their long shaped designs are wonderful and original.
There's a special way to print them that makes the ink soak into the fabric
so that decorations are visible on both sides. Of course there are also a lot of
knock-offs that are regularly printed.
'Fake' tenugui at the left, real one at the right.
And now I finally found a way to 'use' them; I put them under the glass of
my desk.
I regularly switch them around, now there's one with camera print.
